### What Does a Civil Engineer Do?

Civil Engineers design, build, supervise, operate, and maintain construction projects and systems including roads, railways, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment.

Civil Engineers work to improve and protect the environment in which we live. In order to be promoted to a senior position, a graduate degree and licensure is required.
